Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT Preparation
Start Dates: Monthly
Length: 4 – 12 weeks
Time: 15 or 30 hrs/wk
Required Level: 4 (minimum one month completed)
Complete preparation with instruction on all the components of the exam

  University of Cambridge Certification *
The University of Cambridge Certificates are among the most widely recognized British English language examinations in the world. The curriculum incorporates Listening, Speaking, Writing, Reading and Structure and provides essential English language skills and test-taking strategies.
Students must write the Cambridge Placement Test to ensure their language proficiency meets the minimum requirements for all Cambridge programs. Home country level testing can be arranged to determine if the student is ready to enter a Cambridge program.

Who benefits from the University of Cambridge Certificate Programs?
Students who want to learn practical English as used by native speakers in professional and university settings. Students learn to effectively distinguish and use formal and informal English, with an emphasis on real-life tasks and situations. Cambridge will help ensure you have the skills to communicate clearly and effectively with native speakers.

Preliminary English Test (PET):
An intermediate level Cambridge test. Graduates can communicate satisfactorily in most situations.

First Certificate in English (FCE):
An upper intermediate level Cambridge test. Recognized by many employers and universities as proof of competence in English.

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE):
An advanced level Cambridge test showing high-level qualifications in English for professional purposes. CAE is widely recognized by universities for admission. Graduates have confidence in using English fluently and with ease.

  Business and Career Programs

Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) Program    
Start Dates: Monthly
Length: 4 weeks
Time: 15 or 30 hrs/wk
Required Level: Level 4 + successful entrance test score

A 4-week test preparation course based on a series of proficiency examinations designed to meet the international business needs of English students. Discussions, assignments and tests include reading, writing, listening and speaking questions that are related to on-the-job simulations provided by the University of Cambridge. The program covers issues in marketing, public relations, business ethics, management and human resources.
The Cambridge Business English Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the BEC program.

Cambridge Diploma of Business Program (DBE)
Start Dates: Monthly
Length: 8 weeks
Time: 15 or 30 hrs/wk
Required Level: Level 4 + successful entrance test score

An 8-week test preparation program that includes the BEC 4-week certificate course plus an additional 4 weeks of highly intensive preparation, concentrating on improving the skills necessary for future business employment. The curriculum incorporates media, communications, current events and job skills preparation.

The Cambridge Diploma of Business English is awarded upon successful completion.

Advanced Diploma of Business English (ADBE)
Start Dates: Monthly
Length: 16 weeks
Time: 30 hours per week
Required Level: Level 4 + successful entrance test score

A program requiring a minimum of 16 weeks in class, including the 8-week Diploma of Business Program plus an 8-week internship component. Skills learned during the DBE program will be applied in a business setting. These skills include business issues, protocol and career search skills such as resume writing, interviewing, presentation and deportment. The Internship placement provides hands-on international work experience relevant to the student’s career skills and experience and/or academic training, and is integral to the successful completion of this program. The practicum will provide students with the opportunity to experience corporate culture, improve technical English skills, acquire industry experience and make global industry contacts.

The Advanced Diploma of Business English (ADBE) will be issued upon successful completion of the practicum including a positive evaluation by the employer.

Business English plus Internship Program
Start Dates: Monthly, after completion of the business course
Length: 50% study + 50% internship (example: 3 months study + 3 months internship)
Requirements: Cambridge Business English Certificate and Level 4+

Student and work visas required. Candidates gain advantages in their area of specialty through a professional internship with a Canadian-based company. Internships are available in areas of study such as human resources, engineering, travel and tourism, marketing and advertising, architecture and natural resources. This program is professionally organized and candidates are supported before, during and upon completion of the program.

Fully paid internships are available with a wide variety of companies. Our Internship Coordinator interviews and places candidates who qualify. Jobs can be arranged for 6 months or more. Qualifying candidates must have a successful interview to be matched with the prospective employer.

This program is available on the basis of 50% study and 50% job placement in accordance with visa/permit regulations set out by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
